Meet Patrick Newell —

Patrick Newell—Vision Navigator, Global Educator, TEDster
Patrick Newell combines the true spirit of mentoring with keen entrepreneurial instincts. Case in point: In 1997, he created a school from scratch—Tokyo International School—that now educates nearly 400 students from 45 countries. Patrick travels the world picking up insights on collaborative models for education that integrate technology, design, accreditation and brain-based learning, imparting what he has discovered to others as he goes. He is currently filming a documentary called 21:21 that focuses on the need to shift learning into a 21st-century mode. He has also established Living Dreams, a nonprofit organization that enables companies to achieve their CSR goals by helping orphans at children’s homes in Japan realize their dreams. Along with Todd Porter, Patrick is one of TEDxTokyo’s primary organizers.
