Support Pecha Kucha for Haiti this Saturday!

In 2003, TEDxTokyo members, architects Mark Dytham and Astrid Klein, launched an event where young designers could meet, network and show their work in public called Pecha Kucha at Super Deluxe in Tokyo. The presentation format of 20 slides for 20 seconds each was perfect for spreading ideas in an non-intimidating and easily digestible way. The idea took off and has evolved into a massive celebration of creativity, with events regularly being held in over 270 cities. Last year, more than 6,000 presentations were given at +600 PechaKucha events.

Now, in collaboration with TED Prize Winner Cameron Sinclair’s Architecture for Humanity they are setting up an audacious way to mark the seventh anniversary: a “wave” of events in 24 hours, all around the globe to raise money for a cause that’s important to the TEDxTokyo community. Pecha Kucha for Haiti aims to illustrate the power of innovative minds, creative passion and, most of all, sharing ideas for change and sustainability.

Please come on down to Super Deluxe this Saturday, February 20th to experience a one-of-a-kind event. If you won’t be able to attend in person, the event will be streaming live on UStream. A few of us will be down there showing our support, so if you see us be sure to say hello!
