The Shinnenkai wrap-up

Added January 18th, 2010 by TEDxTokyo

We want to thank everyone for coming to the TEDxTokyoEntertain Shinnenkai at the MLB Cafe on Friday! We had almost 200 people come together to connect and socialize. It was a great start to the new year as we look forward to the upcoming TEDxTokyo event on May 15th 2010.

Some people have asked about the video content that was playing throughout the night. We’ve compiled a playlist so that you can watch them on the TED.com site:

Herbie Hancock’s all-star set

Raúl Midón plays “Tembererana”

Theo Jansen creates new creatures

Nick Veasey: Exposing the invisible

Anand Agarawala demos BumpTop

Blaise Aguera y Arcas demos Photosynth

Edward Burtynsky photographs the landscape of oil

David Griffin on how photography connects us

Dan Buettner: How to live to be 100+

Robert Lang folds way-new origami

Natasha Tsakos’ multimedia theatrical adventure

Paul Debevec animates a photo-real digital face

Taryn Simon photographs secret sites

Evan Grant: Making sound visible through cymatics

We also took the opportunity to showcase our speakers from the 2009 TEDxTokyo event. Over the next few months, we will be showcasing these videos here, so be sure to follow us for more inspiring talks.

You can see photos from the party tagged on Flickr, and get involved by supporting us on Facebook!

We’re looking forward to the 2010 event!
