TEDxTokyo 2010

“Hit Reset”

Deep themes. New memes. Power dreams. TEDxTokyo 2010 — set for Saturday, May 15 — will be a much more expansive and inclusive affair than our 2009 version, and bring you extraordinary ideas worth spreading.

The biggest changes? We will be adding another one hundred people to the guest list and are hoping you’ll be one of them. We’ll also have simultaneous English-Japanese interpretations on tap for all presentations. We are going to have several freshly hewn angles on the world to investigate, too. Here’s a brief taste of what’s to come:

Session 1

The Century’s First Decade

What has the first decade of this century given to the world?

Session 2

Opening Sources and Systems

See how the world is opening up to sharing resources.

Session 3

Five Senses Plus One

Explore making sense using a combination of our five common senses and intuition.

Session 4

A Cultural Expedition

Let’s take a peek into cultures and their influences.

Starting from January 2010, the TEDxTokyo blog will begin feeding the flame with tales of vital connections made at the 2009 launch event, and what grew from them. We’ll also begin showcasing unforgettable TEDTalks and our 2010 speakers as they come on board.

Some things will remain the same. We’ll be back at Miraikan — Japan’s National Museum for Emerging Science and Technology — on the shores of Odaiba. And we’ll still be offering up presentations designed to enthrall, inspire and delight you.

You can have your say, too. While only a small percentage of participants will take the stage, our goal is to have everyone promote their great notions in small groups and one-on-one interactions. So have your visions sharpened and ready!
